Truly amazing…

Words really will fail me with this one! In a sea of traditional Tuscan villas, Casale di Cellole stands out on many fronts. As a destination, it has been carefully, sensitively and deliberately composed to ensure that the balance of traditional, contemporary, eclectic and comfort all adds up to a truly unique home-away-from-home experience. Our apartment, “Zoo”, which is a single, massive bedroom/bathroom on first floor with very well appointed kitchen (with DW) and dining separated by a white washed archway into the lounge area with open fireplace on ground floor. I am quite obsessed with the beautiful, steel, double glazed windows and extra wide entry door… Detailing which we very rarely see in Australia. A great collection of vintage pieces of furniture, accessories and a rotating artwork collection grace the spaces. Clearly there is a sense of humour here too… The vaguely kitsch framed, black and white photograph in the laundry was a pleasant distraction from laundry duty! We were fortunate to check out the other 2 apartments and can safely say that you wouldn’t regret being in any of them. The surrounding gardens are bountiful and were bursting into bud, flower and leaf whilst we were there. This made sitting outside under our steel framed loggia or on the gravelled open terrace a wonderful experience. Elisa as host is warm, genuine, happily spirited, generous and (fortunately for us) fluent with English. Our stay covered the Easter period and although that meant some pretty jam packed experiences in Siena and San Gimminano on the public holidays, we were delighted to find quiet roads and peaceful towns like San Giovanni d’Asso (thanks for the suggestion Elisa), Radda, Greve and others. This one is a real secret… Hard to find, off the beaten track so perfectly quiet and relaxing. Only 6 kilometres though from Sienna, the Coop supermarket, access roads to surrounding towns etc so you won’t feel like you are too far away when you do want to be a tourist! 110% from us! In a big, wide world where there are an unlimited number of possible destinations, I can guarantee that we will be coming back here!

“We had such a fantastic time!”

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would ;) Casale di Cellole is a true gem in the Chianti region. The way how modern architecture is mixed with authentic Tuscan style is absolutely unique and can hold up with the coolest design hotels. We stayed in Africa, which is an old barn transformed into a very stylish loft. Also the surroundings are simply stunning. We loved it. Next to the truly fantastic place, we met the nicest people imaginable, making our trip absolutely remarkable. We will certainly come back and can only give our highest recommendation to this fantastic place.

"We'll definitely return!"

We stayed at Casale di Cellole for 4 days and it was a fantastic experience. The property is set in a beautiful area just a few kilometers Northeast of Siena and a few minutes drive to the Firenze-Siena highway. The apartment we were staying at (River) was perfect in every way, from the expertly blended modern-rustic decor, to the well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. This is a place where attention to detail is palpable, resulting in making your stay as comfortable as possible. Our apartment also had an outdoor private dining area where you could enjoy al-fresco dinners and watch the sun set over an idyllic landscape. The landscaping around the property is worthy of mention. Expertly manicured bushes with herbs, succulents, lavender, seasonal flowers and olive trees surrounding the pool area. Hosts Elisa and Alessandro are exceptionally warm and helpful making your stay in Tuscany and at Cellole a memorable vacation.

You'll never regret it...

This place is truly amazing and Elisa, the host, is wonderful. After many research of option around Siena, we have rented "River" for 8 days and were simply blown away. The interior is fabulous, much larger than the pictures feel, the decor is superb, rooms are cozy and vast and the appliances are of very high standards... and the fireplace provides a unique ambiance to romantic evening. The exterior is breath-taking as the view on the valley is magnificient, rich with vineyards and olive trees, and the sun setting right in front of the house is just perfect! With multiple convenient assets such a terrace, a pool and a covered bbq area, where we had many wonderful suppers, there is plenty to do around the beautiful gardens that surround the house... located less than 15 minutes away from Siena, and less than 30 minutes away from places like Brolio, San Felice, San Gusme, etc. Elisa, the host, is both friendly and helpful, always ready and willing to come over and suggest activities or answer requests. If by reading the previous lines you're not convinced of going to Casale di Cellole, well here's a friendly piece of advice: just go! You'll never regret it... in face, the only thing you will regret is the day you'll have to leave this glimpse of what paradise is!

Elisa is a fantastic host!

There was lots of good communication from the time of our initial enquiry and a few days before arriving Elisa informed us that River, the property we originally wanted, was available again which made us very happy. On the day of our arrival a dodgy GPS in our rental car meant that we ended up arriving more than an hour later than our estimated time but Elisa welcomed us with a huge smile and gave us a tour of her beautiful property (which is Instagram heaven!). River is gorgeous and just as it looks in the photos. The eclectic mix of furniture has a very stylish Scandinavian feel and although there isn't any air conditioning, the large airy rooms with their high ceilings stayed surprisingly cool, providing welcome relief from the scorching Tuscan sun (the swimming pool is the other great option!). The outdoor areas and gardens offer a mix of spaces to relax and enjoy a wine and no matter where you choose to park yourself the view from the elevated location is spectacular, especially at sunset! After three hectic weeks covering Paris, London, Rome and the Palio in Siena we were looking forward to a few chilled days in the Tuscan countryside and that's exactly what Elisa's property delivered. The silence was absolute bliss and it was great to shop at the local grocer and cook for ourselves (for the first time in our trip). It was also lovely to meet Elisa's husband Alessandro, who is just as warm and friendly, and their gorgeous little girls. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay here again.
